Master’s Message

Brothers,

Fraternal greeting and Happy New Year. I hope the holiday season was joyous and a safe one for everyone. I unfortunately spent mine on crutches and in a cast. Yes, even the Master of the Lodge is not impervious to mistakes as I fell and broke my leg during the Thanksgiving holiday My prognosis is good so far as everything is healing correctly. I am looking forward to seeing you all at our First Degree this month. I am anticipating a great showing from the brethren to support our newest member as our degree team has been working hard over the last few months in preparation for this important event.

Also this month, Seneca Lodge will be getting ready to participate in the annual Have-A-Heart Campaign for the Ronald McDonald House at Eastview Mall. The Ronald Mc Donald House first opened in 1974 in Philadelphia and now has over 300 locations. For 37 years, they have provided housing for the parents of children who need medical assistance. The houses are located world wide and are continuing to grow. Currently, we are in need of brothers to assist so please contact Brother Armand Gallucci for dates and time slots available. This is one occasion you don't want to miss. It's a great opportunity to work with your fellow brethren and their families and have a good time raising money for a worthy cause. Seneca Lodge has been recognized in the past by the brethren as one of the most successful lodges in raising donations for this prestigious charity. Let's continue this trend.

On another charitable event, I would like to recognize Brother Ken Nelson who recently participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Lock Up. Brother Ken was selected to raise money for his bail and was able to raise $2400.00 for this great charity. His spirit in this effort was due because of a 4th grade student who lost her battle with Muscular Dystrophy For his efforts, he received the Golden Handcuff Award and in his words "a wonderful tribute for a life cut way too short". On behalf of Seneca Lodge, thank you Ken.

I would also like to thank Brother Jack Breitung for his efforts with the Breakfast with Santa last month and Brother Bob Shaver for his efforts with the Christmas Party. I unfortunately could not attend but they both did a fine job in my absence.

Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

Fraternally,

W! Donald R. Jenks, Jr.
